This is true because not using a CRM will force you to constantly need to start over.
Let's use an example to explain what I mean.
Let's say you contact prospect Mary Smith for the first time, and she tells you that she isn't interested right now (like most new prospects).
If you're like the average person prospecting on LinkedIn, you'll ignore Mary Smith or say "Thank you" and move on to the next prospect.
This is a huge mistake. Why didn't you add Mary Smith to your CRM and create a follow-up task to contact her again in 30 days?
Just because they aren't interested now doesn't mean they won't be in the future.
If you aren't regularly using your CRM, you're just being lazy and you're making your sales process more difficult.
